The Flash (Out of Time) Review Spoilers

Detective Joe West coming face to face with Mark Mardon/Weather Wizard

Detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) coming face to face with Mark Mardon/Weather Wizard (Liam McIntyre)

Time Travel Say What!

The Flash “Out of Time” should have ended with the Huey Lewis and the News song “Back in Time”.  The episode was a great setup episode for the remaining 8 or 9 episodes for the season. The Flash hasn’t only been a successful in entertaining the core fan base but really successful with word of mouth buzz from non comic book fans in general.  The internet will absolutely love the ending of the episode because Barry does break the time barrier.  That’s not even the icing on the cake because the audience learns about Dr. Wells identity and his true intentions.

Detective Joe West was pursuing Mark Mardon and his brother on the night the Particle Accelerator exploded.  The brother shows up in the first episode and Detective West shoots him. West assumes his brother died in the plane explosion caused the Particle Accelerator. Mark Mardon shows back up and seeks revenge on Joe. His plan is destroy everything that Joe loves which includes Central City, Barry Allen, and Iris, his daughter. Cisco finally comes face to face with the Reverse Flash and pays for it dearly. Linda and Eddie have issues between the way Iris and Barry act with each other.

Malese Jow as Linda Park and Grant Gustin as Barry Allen share a moment at the bowling alley together

Before the Time Travel spoiler talk about Dr. Wells, the relationship between Iris and Eddie and Linda and Barry was a predominantly featured in this episode.  The two couples are hitting potholes in the road. Personality, Barry and Linda have great chemistry together as two characters possibly in love really and it makes the episodes much more enjoyable. However, the elephant in the room is The Flash has a 70 year comic book character with a large baggage of history. Barry and Iris get marry in the comics.  Barry’s relationship with Linda is storyline filler. However, Iris at the end of the episodes finds out who Barry is and that he loves her.  The kicker is that she won’t remember because Barry breaks the time barrier.

This is a screenshot taken from the TV trailer. Cisco learns all about Dr. Wells

Barry breaks the time barrier at the end of the episode and travels to a few days before Weather Wizard can destroy the city. This confirms that Dr. Harrison Wells is a criminal from the 25th century called Eobard Thawne. He is the Reverse Flash and has the ability to create mirror images of himself. He reveals that he needs to use Barry’s powers to return to his century. He did kill Nora Allen but was trying to kill Barry. He kills Cisco and Caitlyn Snows knows about his secret too. He doesn’t kill Caitlyn because Barry travels back in time. Barry can alternate the timeline by traveling back in the past. Cisco isn’t going to die because he does show up in Arrow promo. My opinion is that Eddie and Doctor Wells are the same person. The time aspect has always been hinted at and glad they finally got to it.

Overall, The Flash “Out of Time” was a great episode. Every character had a purpose and no one was wasted. Doctor Wells kills Cisco for the moment and reveals himself to be the Reverse Flash. Barry travels back in time.  This episode gets a 4.5 for introducing the time travel power in a clever way.   It was a really fun episode too.

The Flash (Crazy for you) review

the flash crazy for you

Britne Oldford as Lashawn Baez

Hey, it’s a teleporter!

The Flash is an fun hour of entertainment every Tuesday 8PM. The Flash continuously impresses with the special effects for a television show. The VFX budget must be pretty financially substantial for the show.  Tonight, the Flash encountered a threated that he couldn’t catch, a teleporter.

Barry Allen continues to save people as the Flash and make a great impression the citizens of Central City.  However, a prisoner is broken out of Iron Heights, and the Flash team discovers the prisoner is aided by a teleporter.  The teleporter is quicker than the Flash so he has problems in defeating her.  Barry Allen and Detective Joe West ask Barry’s father, Henry Allen, to get information the escape prisoner’s whereabouts.  Henry gets stabbed in the process but helps the Flash. Cisco meanwhile is aided by Hartley, the villain from last week’s episode, to find out where Catlin’s boyfriend, Ronnie Raymond, is hiding.  Hartley’s does help Cisco to find truth about Ronnie but Hartley escapes.  Catlin and Barry go to a bar and Catlin gets drunk. She sort of admits her feelings towards Barry which goes over his head and he starts to date a fellow reporter at Iris’ work. Iris gets so jealous.  Oh Gorilla Grodd shows up at the end of the episode.

Grant Gustin as Barry Allen and Candice Patton as Iris West

Grant Gustin as Barry Allen and Candice Patton as Iris West

This Flash episode had many positives for example, the special effects, Cisco dealing with Hartley, and introduce of Grodd at the end.  The relationship between Barry and Caltin and the moments between Barry and his Dad, Henry, really stood out in this episode. The moments between Barry and Caltin are adorable. Catlin obviously likes Barry so much, and he is blind as a bat to her flirty mannerisms towards him.  They have a great moment together where they sing karaoke during the episode. It was very light hearted and romantic at the same time.   Henry Allen has a lot of bonding moments with Barry. For example, Henry tells Barry subtly that he might know this Flash guy, and he that he is super proud of him and loves him.  They both cry and it is hinted that Barry’s father knows that Barry is The Flash and is super proud of him.

The teleporter story line was a drag on the episode.  She breaks her boyfriend out of prison and instead of runaway together they continue to pull heist jobs. The Flash catches her and her boyfriend leaves her in the dust. It was the classic decent girl with powers falls for the wrong guy story. Personality, the writers might have missed out on the opportunity to do something exciting and fun with teleporter’s introduction.

Overall, this episode was pretty good and enjoyable. Barry Allen and Catlin develop their potential romantic relationship. It was the interaction between Barry Allen and Henry Allen that really made this episode standout. The Flash continues to get better and better plus we will have a talking gorilla as a villain soon.  “Crazy for you” gets a 3.5 out 5. Too bad for the weak villain story.

The Flash (The Sound of Furry) review

Grant Gustin as the Flash and Andrew Mientus as Hartley Rathaway/Pied Piper

Grant Gustin as the Flash and Andrew Mientus as Hartley Rathaway/Pied Piper

The mystery of Dr. Harrison Wells is the most significant story line of the Flash’s first season. Is Dr. Wells a good guy, bad guy, or even something more meaningful? Honestly, this episode has confused me on who or what Dr. Wells is.  This episode did give an answer that the audience has wanted to know the whole time. Dr. Wells was wanted the particle accelerator to explode so Barry Allen could transform into the Flash.

Barry Allen faces a new villain Pied Piper.  Pied Piper,Hartley Rathaway worked with Dr. Wells, has the ability to control sound waves and has a vendetta against Wells.  Rathaway told Wells that the partial accelerator could explode and harm innocent people. Rathaway’s revelation causes Team Flash to stop trusting Dr. Wells. Dr. Wells needs to earn back the trust of the team but can he do it?

The writers make the audience question the belief if Dr. Wells is The Reverse Flash.  The Reverse Flash runs with yellow streaks emulating from his body.  The Flash has red waves, and Dr. Wells used his speed in this episode.  His waves were red. The Flash writers are doing a hell of a job to cover up Dr. Wells’ interior motive by working with the Flash.  Who is Dr. Wells? Dr. Wells’ backstory was revealed a little bit with Rathaway and it made the episode intriguing.

Roger Howarth as Mason Candice Patton as Iris West

Roger Howarth as Mason
Candice Patton as Iris West

Iris starting her job at a newspaper was another positive.  Her boss is Eric Larkin, played by Tom Bulter, and her rival colleague is Mason Bridge played by Roger Howarth.  These are two veteran actors might really develop the Iris character.  Honestly, Iris working in the coffee shop didn’t brother my inner fanboy. I didn’t really care about her becoming a reporter. However, I think these two actors and their characters can invest the viewing audience into the storyline of Iris West becoming a Lois Lane type reporter.

Overall, this Flash episode was a good episode. It was enjoyable, action pack, plot details of Harrison Wells is still shrouded in mystery, and have established more a bonding moment between Barry and Detective Joe West.  Flash “The Sound and the Furry” gets a 4/5 from me.

The Flash (Revenge of the Rogues)

Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold (left) Dominic Purnell as Heatwave (right)

Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold (left)
Dominic Purnell as Heatwave (right)

Captain Cold is back with a friend!

Captain Cold is perhaps the Flash’s most formable foe.  His power to freeze all objects nullifies the Flash’s powers.  However, in the first meeting, Captain Cold did best the Flash. Captain Cold was intrigued by the Flash and now wants to kill him. He is the most vicious and cunning of all of the Flash’s foes that he has faced.  The Flash episode, “Revenge of the Rogues” introduced a new foe for the Flash, Heatwave!

Captain Cold and his partner, Mick Rory, return to Central City to kill the Flash. They break into a warehouse with expensive foreign cars to provoke the Flash into stopping them. The Flash declines their invitation and decides not to fight both criminals. Barry Allen is more concentrated on training to stop the Reverse Flash.  Reserve Flash is the priority for the Flash team. However, Captain Cold and Heatwave take the initiative in provoking a fight with the Flash and capture Catlin Snow.

Rick Cosnett as Detective Eddie Thawne

Rick Cosnett as Detective Eddie Thawne

The best moments of this episode was the interaction between Captain Cold and Heatwave. Both actors brought great charisma and had chemistry as a team on the small screen. Purcell as Heatwave had a temper and had sarcastic tone.  He was a fun character but was overshadowed by fellow actor, Wentworth Miller. Miller is spectacular as Captain Cold. The way he plays Captain Cold is so fantastic. He is cold, cunning, and malicious.  Miller’s presence on screen comes across as he enjoys playing his character in a sadistic way. Cold wants to kill the Flash. He doesn’t care how he will does it or who he uses to achieve his goal. He actually might be the closest villain as a representation to the Joker on the either the Flash or Arrow.

Overall, this Flash episode was fun and entertaining. It was enjoyable and the villains were entertaining. The love story between Iris and Eddie needs to be cut down. It takes away from the screen time of the Flash. The Flash “Revenge of the Rogues” gets a 3.5 out of 5. The villain story showed up but the love story between Iris and Eddie went out for coffee.

The Arrow vs. Flash crossover review

Arrow vs. Flash crossover

Arrow played Stephen Amell & Flash played Grant Gustin

Every Justice League begins with two heroes coming to a kick ass team!

There are events in television history that put the spotlight on a show or two television shows. Star Trek: The Next Generation had a series of episodes where Spock, Leonard Nimoy, was a guest star. The viewership for these episodes skyrocketed. Arrow and The Flash had their first crossover episodes, and it was the first of many.  Essentially what made this crossover so great was the fact every important character from the Flash or Arrow was essential to the storylines.  Felicity and Diggle appeared on the Flash and went to Star Labs while Cisco and Caitlin were hanging out in the Arrow cave in the Arrow episode.  Arrow and The Flash are created and run by the same people. Marc Guggenheim and Greg Berlanti created Arrow and Berlanti went on to be executive producer of the Flash while Guggenheim is the head man at Arrow as of right now.  Berlanti also looking at producing a Supergirl show for CBS. The two producers along with the team of writers for both show were spectacular at making high quality entertaining television for two nights.

Oliver Queen and Barry Allen decide to work together

Oliver Queen and Barry Allen decide to work together

The first episode of the crossover was Flash vs. Arrow.  The Flash, Barry Allen, has to face an enemy that can cause rage in people. The villain causes people to overstep their emotional boundary and it them to into a Hulk rage. Oliver Queen, Green Arrow, and his team are in Central City looking for a killer that kills people with boomerangs.  Arrow saves Barry and Detective Joe West from trouble. Barry and Oliver decide to find the new metahuman together and defeat him. Detective West and Dr. Wells tell Barry that the Arrow is dangerous and can’t be trusted. Barry has to decide to between working his trusted friend, Oliver Queen, or following the advice of his two mentors. His choice will either strengthen or destroy Barry’s alliance with his team who helps him at Star Labs?

Nick E. Tarabay plays Digger Harkness or Captain Boomerang

Nick E. Tarabay plays Digger Harkness or Captain Boomerang

The second part of the Arrow vs. Flash crossover had Oliver going after Captain Boomerang. Caitlin and Cisco drop by Palmer Industries to help Felicity with the death of Sara Lance. They want to see the Arrow cave and which Oliver is not to happy about. However, Captain Boomerang shows up at Star Labs and starts to take out ARGUS soldiers left and right. Oliver, Roy, Diggle, and Lyia are on the brink of death when Flash shows up and saves Oliver from two boomerangs.  The Flash and Arrow again team to stop the former suicide squad member. Barry has a huge problem with Oliver’s methods of getting information and this causes friction between them. The question is, will Oliver change his ways or same the stay?

The most positive aspect of Arrow and The Flash crossover was the interaction between the characters.  The banter and conflict between Barry and Oliver was spectacular but the supporting like Felicity, Diggle, Cisco, and Caitlin stood out. Roy was a spectator between the members of the team debating who would win in a fight Arrow or Flash. The stories themselves were good. The first time Diggle saw Barry Allen use his super speed in person caused Diggle to be speechless. Caitlin and Ramon were psyched to see the Arrow cave. Every character was used properly besides a few of them.   The Flash and Arrow showed case their primary attributes that makes them unique.  The two episodes were funny and it is one of the reasons why this crossover got the ratings it did.

The negatives for me were Eddie Thawne deciding suddenly The Flash was a villain and wanting to take him down. It causes Barry Allen gives in to his rage and he nearly kills Eddie. Iris turns her back on The Flash just like that.  For me, that plotline should have happen at the mid-season finale, and it felt like the writers of The Flash tried to have every character be essential to the storyline.  My biggest pet peeve for the Arrow crossover episode was Lyia.

Lyia was almost dead and gone. Captain Boomerang puts a boomerang in her chest and she is at death’s door. I have applauded the creators of these two television shows in the past for killing their characters off. However, the writers of Arrow copped by having the Flash to run Lyia to the hospital so she could survive. Lyia for me is a weak character and really bitchy. She is not likeable. I would love to see her die and Diggle go on vegence streak or turn his back on Oliver. Hell, Diggle could go after Amanda Waller and is also a deceitful troll. Those would have been better options in my opinion instead of having the Flash there to run Lyia to the hospital, and she survives.

Overall these two episode were spectacular and funny. The Flash crossover gets a 4.7 out of 5.

(have links to the two crossover episodes below on the CW site. I suggest watching them because it is like watching a Batman episode with Superman involved.)

The Flash is Born (review)

Greg Finely as Tony Woodard/Girder

Greg Finely as Tony Woodard/Girder

Supersonic Punch Time!

The Flash can do almost anything. He can break the sound barrier, defy gravity, time travel, and along with other abilities. The Flash is not only a superhero that can defy physics and scientific theory but is a human with a trouble past. Tonight’s Flash episode introduced someone from his trouble past.  A bully named Tony Woodard comes back to torment the Flash.

Tony Woodard used to torment Barry Allen in school. Tony can now transform his whole body into metal. The Flash attempts to stop Tony but breaks his hand during his punch. Barry Allen and his Star Lab team discover that Barry would have to punch Tony at the speed of the sound barrier to defeat the meta human.  Detective Joe West asks Dr. Wells for help with the investigation of Nora Allen’s death.  However, Joe is derailed with a threat from the Reverse Flash.

the-flash-season-1-episode-6-synopsis

This Flash episode was pretty entertaining. The special effects were good and the interaction of Eddie and Barry being friendly was a good plot point. It help rekindle Barry and Iris’s friendship. However, there is a mystery that needs addressing. Is Dr. Wells the Reverse Flash?

Reverse Flash in the comics is the Flash’s arch nemesis. They have identical powers but the Flash is pure of heart while the Reverse Flash is filled with jealously towards the Flash. Dr. Wells in the pilot or second episode had a moment when he seemed to move the speed of lightening. However, I don’t think he is the ultimate bad guy but I think he is working with future Eddie Thawne to distract the Flash from a larger plan. I have no idea who is the central baddie for this season but I believe that we will find out probably in January.  The ending of this episode has made my head spin in theory but at least the writers are keeping the audience intrigued.

The Flash is Born gets a 4/5.

The Flash Plastique (review)

Kelly Frye as Bette Sans Souci/ Plastique

Kelly Frye as Bette Sans Souci/ Plastique

Plastique makes her debut!

The Flash has super cool villains.  He has Mirror Master, Captain Cold, and the Reverse Flash. The Flash introduced a new villain tonight, Plastique. Plastique has the ability to turn anything into a explosive bomb. Her abilities mirror Gambit from the X-men. Gambit’s kinetic energy explodes items and the energy leaves no trace. Plastique leaves explosion residue from the items that she touches.   Tonight’s episode introduced a second DC villain General Wade Eiling.

Barry Allen can't drunk

Barry Allen can’t drunk

Plastique explode an office building looking for information on the person who changed her from a soldier into an exploding ticking time bomb. The Central City Police department investigate but are ordered to give the case over the US Army. General Wade Eiling is leading the investigation for the Army. Barry Allen and his team at Star Labs discover that Bette Sans Souci is the woman that can explode items with a touch. Barry Allen races to save Bette and tries to save her before the General can use her as a weapon.

The Flash is a very entertaining hour of television namely because the main character, Barry Allen. Grant Gustin has really grown into his character.  He is not only super charming but brings charisma to the screen. Gustin also gives the viewers a sense that Barry Allen/The Flash deeply cares about everybody’s life no matter who they are. Barry also promises Bette that he help save her. Catlin and Ramon try to help her but Dr. Wells undermines Barry. He does this deliberately to push Barry to expand his powers. Kelly Frye did a great job of playing Plastique and bringing human emotion to supervillain.

Clancy Brown as General Wade Eiling

Clancy Brown as General Wade Eiling

Clancy Brown is the voice Lex Luthor in the animated DC universe. He also known for the Kurge from the movie Highlander. General Wade Eiling is another enemy for the DC superheroes.  He is also sometimes allies with the heroes for his own objectives. Brown’s Eiling will apparently the more corrupt version of the General. Brown displayed his cockiness in his interpretation of the episode. He was threaten by Dr. Wells but has seen the Flash in action. He will be trying to harness meta-humans for his own gain in future episodes.

The Flash episode Plastique was really interesting. The special effects produced scenes that help Barry Allen run on water and up a building. Next week, the writers previewed his super punch where he punches with the force of the sound barrier.  The villain was a evil General who wanted to exploit Plastique.  The solid had solid acting and a fun plot line. I give the Flash “Plastique” a 4/5.

The episode also did introduce Grodd or Gorilla Grodd. I gave credit to the Flash writer’s it is a ballsy move to introduce a talking gorilla on a television show with a small budget. I can’t wait to see how they pull it off.

Flash ( Going Rogue) Review

Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold

Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold

Hello Captain!!!!!

The Flash is now CW’s most watched show and there are many reasons why.  The Flash is super loveable, and Grant Gustin does a great job in playing Barry Allen.  The whole cast in general have maintained a high quality level of acting in the first few episodes. The plot and the episode plots are good. The special effects on this show are terrific for television and its never a dull moment with the effects.  More importantly, The Flash is very comic book like because of his powers and his villain powers. The introduction of Captain Cold as a primary villain is why the Flash has mass appeal.

Arrow is very ground and dark as a television show, and Gotham, on Fox, is the same.  The two televisions are supposed set in the real world and abide by the rules of reality.  However, the Flash takes these rules and turns them upside down.  People love superheroes because they love the power that these heroes display.  The counterpart to the heroes processing the power are the villains who have an opposite power that can severely challenge or kill our superheroes. Captain Cold is the tip of the iceberg for the villains that will be introduced during the Flash, television show.

Leonard Snart is criminal that commits arm robbery. He very much plans the response time of the Central City police and knows when he needs to leave the scene of the crime. Barry Allen being his nerdy self is at Star Labs with the team and playing each other person in a different game. The team hears about an arm robbery in process, and Barry takes off to save the day.  He foils Snart’s plan to rob an armory car. Snart is fascinated by the Flash and sees the hero as challenge. He finds a way to defeat the Flash and will kill any one who gets in his way. The Flash will have a find way to stop Snart, Captain Cold, without being hit by Snart’s cold gun.

He destroyed a train moments before and didn't care.

He destroyed a train moments before and didn’t care.

“Going Rogue” had many positives as a episode. The special effects were great.  Felicity Smoak came to see Barry, and they rekindle their little fling.  Iris continues to be blind as a bat when it comes to Barry and his feelings towards her.  Seriously, the biggest positive was Leonard Snart, Captain Cold, vs. Barry Allen, The Flash.  The episode mainly focused on the first battle in a long drawn out war between Captain Cold and Flash. Wentworth Miller was so damn cold as Captain Cold. Cold means he would kill you like you were just fly on the wall.  His character didn’t want to get away with the stolen diamond but wanted to kill the Flash in the process.  Miller displayed a complete lack of humanity and compassion as Captain Cold and captured the attention of the audience.  The Flash can’t get hit by his ice gun because the absolute zero freezes the skin on contact.  Captain Cold will be in several episodes this season. The episode was a great introduction to his character, and Flash has no idea how to defeat Cold at the moment when he decides to resurface.

The episode had a few negatives but mostly it was with the subplots like the relationship between Eddie and Iris. Seriously, it is supposed to be important but it feels annoying because the writers kind of force down our throats every week. The episode was great overall and “Going Rogue” gets a 4.5/5.  The introduction of Captain Cold was brilliant.

The Flash (things you can’t outrun) review

Hey it’s Mist

The Flash has very entertaining in itself three episodes. The episode “Things You Can’t Outrun” did have the villain of the week but the episode helped developed the overall season plot line. The cast  has really grown into their roles and the best part of the show might be the acting.

Things You Can’t Outrun introduced Mist, a supervillain in the DC Universe.  Kyle Long has the ability to change into a poisonous gas.  He kills his former mob bosses who by suffocation. Detective Joe West and Eddie Thawne investigate the murders along Team Flash. Joe asks the team at Star Labs to help solve this case. The question is either to kill the villain or capture him? Barry suggests building a prison to hold these villains.  Dr. Wells suggests that the particular accelerator can be modify to hold these villains, and it would be the first time the particular accelerator would be used since the night it exploded. The particular accelerator brings back painful memories to the Star Labs team.  The episode introduces Ronnie Raymond, Robbie Amell ( brother to Stephen Amell who plays Oliver Queen’s).  Raymond is Caitlin’s fiancée and sacrifices his life to save Central City.  Detective Joe West does tell Eddie and Iris, his daughter, that he knows about them dating and he is ok with it if Iris really loves him.  However, the real question is who is Dr. Wells and what can he do?

Overall, this episode was very solid. The special effects are so cool and hope they introduce more of Flash’s powers. It would be fun to see him run up a building and end a hostage situation in a Flash.  Jesse L. Martin is very solid as Joe West and his partner, Eddie Thawne, is so loveable. However, Joe is spending more time with Barry which might cause some future hostilely that Eddie could develop towards Barry.  The episode did more with the team at Star Labs. The flashback scenes showed that these people, on the night that the particle accelerator blew up, suffered losses.  Barry and Caitlin had moment which I thought they might kiss.   The writers should explore this relationship more because both of Barry and Caitlin are science geeks and have common interests.   Honestly every main character is likeable, and the actors do a great job in bringing these roles to life.  Next week, the audience will introduce to Captain Cold and a Flash arch nemesis, one of the main ones.

The only negative about the episode would be the villain. The actor wasn’t that terrifying but he was limited in his dialogue and had a revenge plot. The Mist does joint other superheroes in effort to take down the Flash. My belief is after the introduction of Captain Cold that we will see the rogues beginning to team up once they break out of this prison later in this season.

Overall, this flash episode was pretty solid. The Flash continues to have good acting, special effects, and clever dialogue. They writers did throw in jokes about the Flash having his own museum.  It was nice a little easter egg for the comic book fans. This is a show that you need to be watching.  “Things You Can’t Outrun” gets a 4/5. The Flash comes on Tuesdays at 8pm eastern time.

What did you think of this week’s episode and the introduction of Mist?  Comment below and let me know

The Flash (Fastest Man Alive)

Michael Smith as Danton Black

Michael Smith as Danton Black

Flash finds a new partner!

The Flash premiered last week and it was well received by fans and critics. The episode Fastest Man Alive was a good episode also. The series is still finding its voice and establishing itself.  However, Jesse L. Martin plays a giant role in this episode.  The Flash is already getting noticed by the city calling him the Red Streak.

Barry Allen as the Flash saves people from a burning building. Central City has taken noticed of him.  He and his best friend, Iris, go to the honorary ceremony for Simon Stagg.  Three men show up and crash the ceremony.  Barry is having trouble maintaining his energy by the constant burning of energy every time he runs.  Star Labs investigates the gunmen and finds Danton Black can clone himself. Barry saves his surrogate father, Joe West, from Black which leads to an argument between Joe and Barry. Barry must decide for himself either to be the Flash or just be a regular guy?

This episode accomplishes several key elements that will make this series into a good show. First, the relationship between Barry and Joe is a lot like Bruce Wayne and Alfred. Joe sees Barry as a son and doesn’t want harm to come to Barry. He tries to persuade Barry not to fight crime. Joe sees Barry’s real life job a way to fight crime.  The two become closer in the end of the episode.  Secondly, the writers help us discover about Barry’s bodily mechanics.  In other media versions, Barry constantly eats to keep up his energy. The lack of sugar causes him to faint.  The writers did a wonderful job of putting this key component of the Flash in this episode.  Finally, Danton is  prototype for a villain known as Mirror Master. Danton can clone himself into multiple version. For example, the Flash can be facing Danton then face a hundred. He’s a terrifying villain.

The only negative issue is the Flash Team. Arrow has a distinct team with Dingle and Felicity.  Catlin and Cisco really don’t do that much. They dragged the episode a bit. Looking forward to more character development for these two characters. .

Overall, this Flash episode is a good. The series is still finding its feet. The actors need to settle into their roles but Jesse L. Martin has only settled into his. This episode gets a 3.5/4 because the episode didn’t wow me like Arrow or Gotham does.
